Russell Henley What’s In The Bag?

Henley is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour. His first came in 2013 at the Sony Open in Hawaii after shooting three rounds of 63 during the week. Then a year later he managed to beat Russell Knox, Ryan Palmer and Rory McIlroy (opens in new tab) in a playoff to win the Honda Classic. He then had to wait over three years before getting back into the winner’s circle at the 2017 Shell Houston Open. Since then he has been a regular feature of the world’s top-100. But what clubs does he put into his bag? Below we have taken a look.

Driver

Titleist TSi3

Henley is a Titleist staff player and plays a full bag of clubs from the brand, starting with a Titleist TSi3 driver (opens in new tab) with 10 degrees of loft. We believe Henley was pretty quick to change into the newer TSi3 design and given the performane it produced in our testing, this came as no surprise. Titleist made significant improvements in many different areas to improve the appeal of the TSi3 driver to lots of different player types. The compact look will suit the eye of the better player, but many more abilities have the potential to benefit from the more varied adjustability and extra forgiveness on offer.

Fairway

He then has a Titleist TS3 three-wood (opens in new tab) which is lofted up to around 16.5 degrees. Interestingly he hasn’t really shown a need to switch into the TSi3 model which just shows how well he gets on with the older model in terms of performance. We actually see this quite a lot in Tour players bags, once they find a fairway wood they like and trust, it takes a lot for them to change. 

Hybrid
