Manke Moves Up To Tie For 12th, Advances At NCAAs

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Washington senior golfer RJ Manke shot 1-underin the third round of the 2022 NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club, advancing to the final round of the championship.
 
The UW senior moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard during Sunday’s round and heads into the fourth and final round in a tie for 12th place, seven strokes back of the leader, and just three away from the top five.
 
Manke started the round with four straight pars, before a birdie putt dropped on No. 14 – his fifth hole of the day. He closed out the opening nine with bogies on No. 16 and No. 18 for a 1-over 36.
 
After a par save on his 12th hole, Manke followed it up with a birdie on the par-5 fourth to get back to even for the tournament. On hole No. 4, he drained a 50-foot putt for his third birdie of the day to move to 1-under.
 
Manke finished his day with three pars for the 1-under round and 3-over for the tournament, moving up 15 spots from Saturday with half of the field finishing their round.
 
After the round, the field was cut from 30 to 15 teams, with the top nine individuals from teams that didn’t advance set to compete in the fourth and final round on Monday, where the individual champion will be crowned. Manke, who was the low individual among the nine who advanced, will tee off of hole No. 10 at 12:23 p.m. PT.
