Sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky finished T-6th at the NCAA Louisivlle Regional and freshman Molly McLean finished T-10th at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional
COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 24 South Carolina’s quartet of individuals competing at the NCAA Louisville Regional and NCAA Tallahassee Regional was led by a pair of underclassman this week. Sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky finished T-6th at the NCAA Louisville Regional and freshman Molly McLean T-10th at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.
Galitsky fired red numbers all three days with a 54-hole total of 210 (-6) shooting scores of 71-69-70. She made 13 birdies (T-6th most in the 66-player field) and was T-2nd in the field in par-5 scoring average (4.42, -7) and T-4th in par-4 scoring average (3.90, -3). Indiana’s Sheridan Clancy earned the lone individual spot as the highest finisher on a non-advancing team for the NCAA Championship as she shot 207 (-9) for runner-up medalist honors.
The top-10 NCAA Regional finish was the second for Galitsky in her career at South Carolina as she T-4th last season in helping the Gamecocks win the NCAA Charlottesville Regional.
Junior Maylis Lamoure, who was also competing at The University of Louisville Golf Club alongside Galitsky, played steady with a T-26th finish at even par (216) with scores of 72-73-71. She made nine birdies over the course of 54 holes.
McLean shot even par (216) at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional with scores of 76-68-72. She joins a trio of Gamecock All-Americans the last five seasons to finish top-10 in their NCAA Regional debut (Galitsky in 2025, Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist in 2022 the others). McLean made 10 birdies over the course of 54 holes. Louisiana Monroe’s Johanna Sjursen earned the lone individual spot as the highest finisher on a non-advancing team for the NCAA Championship as she finished shot 210 (-6) for runner-up medalist honors.
Junior Vairana Heck, who was also competing at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, shot 219 (+3) and finished T-19th in the 66-player field. She fired scores of 70-79-70 with eight birdies. Both players for the Gamecocks dealt with over 3 hours of weather delays in the second round on Tuesday in Tallhassee.
South Carolina’s four individual NCAA Regional selections were a new NCAA Record.
