Keith Mitchell What’s In The Bag?
A one-time winner on the PGA Tour, Keith Mitchell, below we take a look at what the professional golfer puts into his bag each week out on Tour.
Keith Mitchell What’s In The Bag?
Driver
Mizuno ST-Z 220
At the top he uses a Mizuno ST-Z 220 driver which has 9.5 degrees of loft and a Project X HZRDUS shaft. He used the previous generation ST-Z driver but switched because of the symmetrical look of the face down behind the golf ball. The Z is a lower spinning model compared to the ST-X 220 model, and it should blend power and forgiveness and as such is aimed at the largest cross section of golfers.
Fairways
Titleist 917F2, Titleist TS2
He then carries two Titleist fairway woods, an older 917F2 three-wood with 16.5 degrees of loft and a new TS2 model at 21 degrees. It seems he enjoys using the older models which is a common theme out on Tour because it seems when players find a model they like and trust, it takes them a bit of time to move on.
Irons
Mizuno Pro 221
Shifting to the irons Mitchell currently uses a full set of Mizuno Pro 22’s which are the fully blade model. His set goes from four-iron down to pitching wedge and all of them are fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts. Mitchell switched into these irons in 2022 after having used the MP-4, MP-18 and MP-20 irons from the brand. Mitchell said he switched because the slightly smaller head was more appealing to look down on.
Wedges
Titleist Vokey SM8
Shifting to the wedges he uses three Titleist Vokey SM8’s. His 50 and 54 degree models are as you would expect, but his 60 degree is bent down to 59 degrees. We think he was also testing some Mizuno T22 wedges but these appear to have been replaced right now.
