STANFORD, Calif. — For the fourth time in the last five years, No. 15 Stanford men’s golf is back in the NCAA Championship Final as the Cardinal treks down to Carlsbad, Calif. from May 29 through June 3. Stanford begins the first round of Stroke Play from the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa on Friday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. PT.

THE COURSE » Omni La Costa plays as a par-72, 7,538-yard track that is in its third year of a five-year stint as the NCAA Championship course. Rated as one of the best golf courses in America, the North Course is a strategic track that can fluctuate in yardage and difficulty based on the mind of course architect Gil Hanse. Playing into the coastal charm, the course welcomes its surroundings as players navigate challenging hole placements and the ocean breeze in an effort to achieve the nation’s top honors. 

THE FIELD » The NCAA Championship field consists of 30 teams with 17 ranked among the top 20. No. 1 Auburn leads the field in front of Florida, Texas, Virginia, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and LSU in order before Ole Miss, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Arizona State, Pepperdine and Stanford follow in tow. Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M follow as the final teams ranked in the top 20. Also hitting the links are BYU, Georgia, Florida State, USC, Duke, UCLA, Louisville, Mississippi State, Arkansas State, Purdue, San Diego, Chattanooga and Memphis. Six individuals from non-advancing regional teams will also compete for the individual crown. 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT » The NCAA Men’s DI Championship Finals consists of 72 holes of stroke play from May 29 through June 1 under the play five, keep four format. Play begins at 6:30 a.m. for the first three rounds with the top 15 teams and nine individuals on non-advancing teams from the first three rounds advancing to Monday’s fourth round with play beginning at 10:30 a.m. Following the fourth round, the top eight teams advance to Match Play with the quarterfinals and semifinals taking place on Monday, June 2. The NCAA Match Play Championship takes place on June 3 at 2:25 p.m.
