Nordvik Leads Women's Golf in Day 2 of Red Sky Classic


WOLCOTT, Colo. (September 27, 2022) – After two rounds of play at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, Rutgers women’s golf sits in 12th place overall. Individually, Rikke Nordvik led the team with an even-par 72 on Tuesday, while Lucrezia Rossettin (t-20) leads RU on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round.

The Scarlet Knights now have a two-day score of 596. Pepperdine currently leads the field with a 12-under 279 and the Waves and Colorado (3-under) are the only two programs in the 20-team field that are under par.

Nordvik put together a compete round for RU, shooting even-par 36 on both the front and back nine for an even-par 72. She had a trio of birdies on holes 6, 12 and 13 to give her five birdies on the tournament.

“I felt more comfortable out on the course today and gave myself good chances to make birdies and tap in pars,” Nordvik said. “I’m feeling confident in my game going into tomorrow’s final round and I know as a team we can clean up our mistakes and put together a good team score to finish the event.”

Rossettin shot a 3-over 75 to finish the day in a tie for 22nd place, the highest mark for Rutgers. She had a pair of birdies on holes 6 and 11 to give her seven birdies through the first two rounds. 

The Scarlet Knights will wrap up the Red Sky Classic on Wednesday afternoon. The final round is set for a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. ET.
