TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior Brett Roberts fired a second-round 68 on Tuesday during another chilly day at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. His 6-under total score (70-68) gives him a tie for the lead as the Seminoles enter Wednesday’s final round at American Dunes Golf Club.
Florida State Men’s Golf trails only Illinois, as FSU is 4-over through two rounds of play while the Illini burst ahead with a 7-under showing so far. Liberty (7-over) and Arizona (7-over) are tied for third while Kansas (9-over) is in fifth place.

Roberts is tied with Liberty’s Jonathan Yaun for the tournament lead. The Coral Springs, Fla., native and two-time All-American last won a tournament at the 2022 NCAA Regional in West Palm Beach, shooting 7-under at PGA National.
His steady round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5, 553-yard sixth hole, making him the second Seminole to eagle that hole this week. His front-nine 33 got him off to a strong start, and Roberts finished it with a 35 on the back nine that included two birdies and a bogey.
Redshirt junior Cole Anderson is tied for ninth at 1-under (71-72), going even on the second day of action. Anderson added three birdies to his round, carding a 34 on the front nine.
Freshman Luke Clanton shot a 5-over 77 in what was an eventful round, and is tied for 24th at 4-over.
Junior Gray Albright is tied for 38th while sophomore Michael Mays is tied for 48th.
Mays begins FSU’s final round on Wednesday with a tee time of 8:30 a.m.
