KETTERING, Ohio – Coming off of a team title in their last outing at the inaugural Folds of Honor Collegiate, the Illinois men’s golf team – No. 2 nationally in the first Golfstat team rankings of the year – returns to action Monday-Tuesday (Oct. 17-18) at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
THE SETTING
The Dayton Flyer Invitational will be hosted by the University of Dayton at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. The event will be contested on the par 71, 7,000 yard South Course.
The South Course is an extremely demanding track of wooded, rolling terrain. It has long been considered a championship caliber golf course, and has been a host site for many state, regional, and national golf championships in its almost 70 year history.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 54-hole tournament will be played over two days with 36 holes set for Monday, followed by the final 18 on Tuesday. Each day is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT.
THE FIELD
The tournament field features 14 programs highlighted by three currently ranked inside the top 50 by Golfstat: Ball State, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, (2) Illinois, Illinois State, Loyola, (43) Marquette, Marshall, Oakland, (36) Ohio State (individuals only), Wright State, Xavier.

The Illini close out their fall competition schedule, Oct. 23-25, in Windermere, Fla., at the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate (previously the Tavistock Collegiate).
