Illini Head South for The Ally


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women’s golf is set to head south and compete in The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club, hosted by Mississippi State. The two-day tournament will be played on Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 18.

THE SETTING

The Ally is held at Old Waverly Golf Club. The course was designed by Bob Cupp and Jerry Pate and officially opened in 1988. The course will be set up for a par 72 and will play 6,353 yards long.  

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

There will be 11 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Monday tee times begin at 7:45 a.m., featuring 36 holes of continuous play, and Tuesday tee times start at 8:00 a.m. CT.

THE FIELD

Along with the Illini, the 11-team field for The Ally will include Alabama, Chattanooga, Indiana, James Madison, Mercer, Mississippi State, Missouri, Old Dominion, Ole Miss and SMU.

ILLINI AT THE ALLY

This will be the first time that the Orange and Blue will compete in The Ally.

Live scoring for The Ally will be available on Golfstat.com. A Recap and results will be posted on FightingIllini.com following each day of play.

UP NEXT

The Illini will return to action on Monday, Oct. 31, where they begin play at the Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla.
