WILMINGTON, NC – NC State senior Brandon Einstein finished in a tie for second place to help lead the Pack men’s golf team to a third place finish in the 10-team Williams Cup played at Eagle Point Golf Club.
Einstein was one of just three golfers in the tournament to finish the 54-hole tournament at under-par.
The Clemmons, N.C., native posted a one-under par 71 in the first and second rounds before shooting even-par 72 in the third and final round on Sunday.
Maximilian Steinlechner was next for the Pack with a 10th place finish. Steinlechner finished the tournament four-over par with his best round being in the second round when he carded a one-under par 71.
Carter Graf finished in a tie for 24th place at 12-over par. Graf had a solid first and second round, sitting in 10th place after two rounds but a tough final round dropped Graf to 24th place.
Ethan Choi finished in 33rd place at 17-over par and Joey Lenane rounded out the NC State lineup in 57th place.
Playing as an individual, Jake Wiktor finished in 54th place.
North Carolina won the tournament by 12 shots over second-pace UNCW. NC State finished in third, two shots ahead of Houston.
The Williams Cup concluded NC State’s fall schedule. The Pack returns to action in February when it competes at Florida State’s Watersound Invitational held at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Watersound, Fla.
