» Using a 291 (+3) in the final round, Michigan tallied an 872 54-hole total to close its fall season in eighth place at the Landfall Tradition played on the Country Club of Landfall.

» With three straight even-par 72s, Ashley Lau paced U-M with an even 216 to tie for 25th individually.

» Returning to the starting lineup, Mikaela Schulz tied for 31st with a one-over 217 (71-73-73).

» Hailey Borja highlighted her final round with a hole-in-one on the par 3, 13th hole to close with a U-M Sunday best 70 (-2). She tied for 49th at 223 (79-74-70).

WILMINGTON, N.C. — With an even-par performance from Ashley Lau, the No. 33-ranked University of Michigan women’s golf team used a final-round 291 (+3) to tally an 872 54-hole total on Sunday (Oct. 30) to close its fall season in eighth place at the Landfall Tradition played at the Country Club of Landfall.

“It wasn’t the way we wanted to finish the fall, but there were some solid performances this week,” said U-M head coach Jan Dowling. “Mikaela (Schulz) being back in the lineup, producing the scores she did after losing her spot was just awesome. Hailey (Borja) had a very nice comeback after a rough start and Ashley (Lau) was back to playing the standard of golf she is used to. We are close.

“And, we are deep. Four different players led our team this fall and we had over 20 individual rounds of par or better. We have the talent, depth and competitiveness to go toe- to-toe with anyone. We just need to take care of the simple stuff inside 100 yards. That was what prevented us from a really solid fall. There were some great rounds, but we never put three together in one weekend. We want to compete against the best and that is our standard.”
