Men’s Golf Adds Two for 2023-24 on Signing Day

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State men’s golf head coach Casey Lubahn announced today (Nov. 9) the signing of two student-athletes to the 2023-24 academic year. Lucas Acevedo and Lorenzo Pinili have both signed National Letters of Intent to join the Spartans for next fall.

“We couldn’t be more blessed with the incredible young men that are joining our program in Fall 2023,” Lubahn said. “Both Lorenzo and Lucas are accomplished on the course, in the classroom, and in their communities.  They come from exceptional families and strong high school programs.  This is a monumental day as our program continues to build off our successes by adding accomplished student-athletes to help us continue to grow.  We are very proud to welcome two families as distinguished as these to our Spartan golf family.”

Lubahn on Acevedo…

“Lucas’ story and path to college golf is something that I was fascinated by throughout the recruiting process.  His background as a nationally elite athlete in another sport before committing himself to golf says so much about who he is as a young man.  His fast rise after only taking up the game recently gives him the opportunity to continue to grow greatly in the coming years.  Lucas is an exceptional young man from a family and golf program that values hard work and dedication with humility.  I look forward to watching his development on campus and I know he will be ready to compete come next fall.”

Lorenzo Pinili, Rochester Hills, Mich.
