ROSEMONT, Ill. – Fighting Illini fifth-year senior Tommy Kuhl earned his second consecutive Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor after leading Illinois to a come-from-behind victory at the prestigious Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. The Big Ten Conference announced the honor Thursday morning.

  • Carded rounds of 72, 67, and 68 to finish nearly four strokes below the course average of 72.84 for the week
  • Recorded 47 of 54 holes at or below par, including 12 birdies and a pair of eagles
  • Captured his fifth top-five finish in six events and the team’s fourth win of the season, giving the Illini head-to-head victories over 10 programs ranked inside the Golfstat Top 50, including seven top-16-ranked teams

It marks the third Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor of Kuhl’s career, and his second this season after also earning the previous award on Feb. 15. The honor is the fourth this season for an Illini golfer with Adrien Dumont de Chassart claiming the award on Sept. 21, and Jackson Buchanan earning his first nod on Oct. 5.
