The Blue Devils have been well-represented in the field with at least two competitors each year the event has been contested. Duke is one of six schools to feature three golfers in the 2023 field – Stanford, LSU, Wake Forest, Ole Miss and Florida State.
In 2019, Duke featured five golfers in the inaugural ANWA competition – Shepherd, Virginia Elena Carta, Gina Kim, Jaravee Boonchant and Ana Belac. The Blue Devils then had three golfers in the 2021 ANWA competition with Boonchant, Kim and Shepherd followed by Brinker and Shepherd in 2022.
Over the four years of action, Duke will now have 13 spots taken up by Blue Devils that will compete with the other top amateur golfers in the country.
Seeing action in the ANWA for a fourth time, Shepherd has carded a tied for 16th finish in 2021 and tied for 21st placement in 2019. Brinker will appear for the second time and Chen will make her debut in 2023.
Shepherd was one of nine golfers that made the cut in the first two ANWA events.
Tee times for the first round will feature Chen off at 8:12 a.m., on No. 1 along with Hsin-Yu Lu and Julia Lopez Ramirez on Wednesday. Shepherd will tee off at 9:21 a.m., on No. 10 with Amelia Williamson and Chiara Tamburlini. Brinker will round out the Blue Devils at 9:44 a.m., on No. 10 with Eila Galitsky…
