Campos Leading after Two Rounds at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic


MAUI, Hawaii – Zoe Antoinette Campos is in first place at 11-under after two rounds at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at Ka’anapali Golf Course. The UCLA women’s golf team is in third place at 7-under (286-283), trailing No. 25 Pepperdine and Denver by eight strokes.
 
Campos, the Valencia, Calif. native followed up her 6-under 66 on Monday with another seven birdies in her 5-under 67 round today.
 
Campos owns a one-stroke lead over Tulane’s Carla Bernat. There are 80 total golfers in the field. Campos’ scores of 66 and 67 are the lowest of her collegiate career, besting her previous mark of 68.
 
The lowest 54-hole score in UCLA women’s golf history is 202 with both Lilia Vu and Stephanie Kono setting the mark in 2018 and 2011, respectively. The lowest 54-hole score in relation to par by a Bruin is -14, set by Lilia Vu at the 2018 Wildcat Invitational.
 
Annabel Wilson also sits in the top-10 at 4-under following her 3-under 69 in round two. The score is tied for her lowest of the season.
 
Senior Yuki Yoshihara is putting together her best outing of the year. Yoshihara, who is competing individually, is tied for 13th at 3-under for the tournament. She had six birdies in her second round after sinking four on Monday.
 
Alessia Nobilio is on the verge of cracking the top 20 at 1-over through 36 holes (71-74). Nobilio had two birdies and just one bogey in round one.
 
The Bruins tee off for the final round tomorrow at 11 a.m. (PT)/8 a.m
