CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women’s golf is set to compete in the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational at The Ohio State University Scarlet Course, hosted by Ohio State. The two-day tournament will be played on Saturday, April 15, through Sunday, April 16.
THE SETTING
The Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational is held at The Ohio State University Golf Club and played on the Scarlet Course. The course was recently renovated by golf legend Jack Nicklaus in 2006. The course will be set up for a par 72 and will play 6,319 yards long.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
There will be 14 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. There will be 36 holes of continuous play on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. Both days will feature a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, the 16-team field for the Clemson Invitational will include Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Nebraska, Purdue, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

ILLINI AT LADY BUCKEYE SPRING INVITATIONAL
This will be the 26th time overall that the Illini will compete in the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational. In last year’s event, the Orange and Blue finished third out of 10 teams carding a 54-hole total of 913 (+49). Illinois has won this event once, coming out on top in the 2018 edition of the tournament. Individually, Grace Park finished tied for first in 2018 and head coach Renee Slone, formerly Renee Heiken, won the event two years in a row in 1992 and 1993.

UP NEXT
The Illini head to Pittsburgh for the Big Ten Championships, played at Fox Chapel Golf Club. The tournament will be held on Friday, April 21, through Sunday, April 23.
