Men’s Golf Completes First Round at SEC Championship


The Missouri men’s golf team carded a one-over team score of 281 on the opening day of action at the SEC Championship on Wednesday.

In a field that features 12 schools in the top 50 of the latest rankings – including seven in the top 20 – two Tigers are tied for 11th in the individual standings through 18 holes. Jack Lundin tallied a two-under 68 thanks to a back nine 32 that featured four birdies. Rookie Alfons Bondesson matched his classmate with a 68, highlighted by a birdie on three-straight holes on 15, 16 and 17.

Charlie Crockett (E), DJ Springer (+5) and Antonio Safa (+6) rounded out the day for Mizzou on Wednesday.

As a team, the Tigers are 11th in the 14-team field after one day of action. Mizzou enters the second round just three strokes back of eighth and a spot in the match-play quarterfinals of the SEC Championship.

Day two of the conference championship is set for Thursday morning with the Tigers first teeing off at 7:20 a.m. CT.
