TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 18 Arizona Men’s Golf’s NCAA Regional destination in the Bay Area is a part of the country the Wildcats know well. Arizona was revealed as the fourth seed in the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional in Wednesday’s NCAA Selection Show on the Golf Channel with play beginning on Monday, May 15. The Wildcats’ selection marks the fifth consecutive season of NCAA postseason play, and The Institute Golf Course is located just south of San Jose as Arizona will make its third trip to the region this season.
Arizona won the NCAA Bryan Regional a year ago by defeating runner-up Pepperdine by five strokes on the campus of Texas A&M University. The regional championship was the program’s first since winning the 2006 NCAA Tucson Regional.

In addition to a trio of trips to the Bay Area for tournaments this season, Arizona has a storied history in the area. The Wildcats won the 2021 Pac-12 Championships at Mayacama Golf Club on the other side of the San Francisco Bay. The Arizona Men’s Golf roster boasts four players from the cities of Rocklin, Sacramento and Oakdale, which are all within 150 miles of the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional.
The Cats won their home tournament, the Arizona NIT, at Omni Tucson National earlier this year in addition to earning runner-up finishes in three other events this season.
Senior Chase Sienkiewicz leads the team in scoring average with a mark of 70.56 strokes over 11 tournaments. He posted two second-place finishes, at the Cabo Collegiate and Thunderbird Collegiate, this season with an additional pair of top-10 finishes. Freshman Zach Pollo won the individual title at the Arizona NIT and became the first Arizona freshman to win a tournament since 2004.
NCAA Regionals follows college golf’s standard “five count four” scoring with the four lowest scores counting out of a five-player lineup. Teams will play 54 holes over three days with the top five teams in each region advancing to the NCAA Championships later this month in Scottsdale, Arizona.
