Ketchum even through 18 holes at Raleigh Regional

RALEIGH, N.C. – Virginia Tech women’s golfer Morgan Ketchum fired an even-par 72 and is tied for 19th following Monday’s opening round of the NCAA Raleigh Regional. The three-day event is being hosted by NC State at Lonnie Poole Golf Course (par 72, 6,324 yards).

Ketchum, who began her first round off the 10th tee, recorded a pair of birdies on par threes en route to her team-best 16th par-or-better round of the season. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native made the turn at 1-over before recording a birdie at the par-5 first hole – her 10th hole of the day. After a bogey at the par-3 second hole, Ketchum responded with her third birdie of the day – at the par-3 sixth hole – to get back to level-par.

Lauren Olivares of NC State and Lottie Woad of Florida State are tied atop the player standings at 5-under 67. The Wolfpack lead the team race after firing a 6-under 282, which is one clear of the Seminoles.

The Tech duo is once again off the 10th hole Tuesday morning for the second round. Opening tee shots of the pairing are scheduled for 8:55 a.m. ET.
