RALEIGH — With two of three NCAA regional rounds in the books in Raleigh, NC State women’s golf continues to lead the field with a cumulative team score of 5700 (-6) going into the final day of action.
The Pack shot an even 288 as a squad during Tuesday’s round and will go into the last 18 holes of the Raleigh Regional with an eight-stroke lead over the current cut line. NC State is hunting after its first NCAA Championships final site berth since 2015 and needs to do so with a top-five team finish at its home regional.
Lauren Olivares Leon (138, -6) and Isabel Amezcua (139, -5) both remained in the top three individually following another pair of under-par rounds on Tuesday. Amezcua shot a team-leading 70 (-2) in the second round, and Olivares Leon posted a 71 (-6) in her round.
Vania Simont got a pair of birdies on the front nine and parred every hole on the back nine to end her day at an even 72, and Natalie Armbruester (75, +3) and Caitlin Whitehead (81, +9) both continued action as well to round out the lineup.

Following the third round, there will be an awards ceremony for the five advancing teams and individual who qualify to compete at the final NCAA Championships site.
