After two more rounds of play—set to be contested on Tuesday and Wednesday—the top five teams from the Auburn Regional will advance to the NCAA Championship, which is scheduled to take place from May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Surratt, owner of Tennessee’s best round one score, shot 1-over on the front nine and 1-under on the back nine to end up at even par on Monday, sitting tied for 11th place. With his round one score of 72, Surratt now holds the program record in single-season rounds of par or better with 26.
Sitting one stroke back of Surratt, Bryce Lewis shot a 1-over 73 during the first round and is tied for 15th place individually. The redshirt junior was 3-over through 15 holes until he registered an eagle on the par-five hole 16.
Giving Tennessee its third-best round of the day was sophomore Laurent Desmarchais, who shot a 2-over 74 on Monday and is tied for 26th entering Tuesday’s round.
Jake Hall provided the Vols with their final counting round of the day after shooting a 6-over 78. The redshirt junior is tied for 54th place. Lance Simpson shot an 81 during the first round and is currently tied for 71st place.
