BOULDER – Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, a two-time Junior College All-American, will join the University of Colorado women’s golf team this fall, head coach Anne Kelly announced on Tuesday.
A native of Gävle, Sweden, Harrouch arrives in Boulder after two stellar seasons at Pima (Ariz.) Community College where she earned back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I All-America honors. Harrouch was eighth at the 2022 NJCAA Women’s National Championship and followed that up by tying for 16th in 2023.
Harrouch won six-straight events during the 2023 season, highlighted by medalist honors at the NJCAA Southwest District Tournament at the Hillcrest Golf Club in Sun City West, Ariz. She clinched the title with a career-best 6-under-par, 66, in the final round. Harrouch was the only player to shoot under par at districts, finishing at 9-under, 207, winning the championship by 10 strokes.
In 16 career events at Pima CC, Harrouch registered 15 top 10 finishes and was in the top 5 eight times. She had three runner-up showings as a freshman in 2022, including the Southwest District Tournament at the Hawk Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas. Harroch placed third in her junior college debut at the Mesa (Ariz.) CC Invitational at the Dobson Ranch Golf Course.
Harrouch was named the 2023 Arizona Community College Athletic Conference/Region I Golfer of the Year and is a two-time All-ACCAC/Region I First Team selection.
“We are so thrilled to add Maria to our team,” Kelly said. “She has made impressive improvement in her game and is a very hard worker. She clearly has enthusiasm and passion for the game. Maria had a very successful junior college career and we can’t wait to see what she does in the Pac-12.”
