Mississippi State Completes First Round At NCAA Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – No. 18 Mississippi State ended the first round of the NCAA Championships in a tie for 21st with No. 4 Arizona State.

The entire field struggled in windy conditions throughout the day with no team shooting under par. No. 11 Georgia Tech leads after being the only team to card an even score.

Only 18 individuals in a field of 156 shot under par, with just two carding bogey-free rounds.

Garrett Endicott leads the Bulldogs going into the second round, sitting in a tie for 19th. He shot even 70 and carded four birdies for the day.

Ford Clegg and Hunter Logan ended the round in a tie for 47th. Clegg finished his front nine with three consecutive birdies and four total for the round. Logan is tied for the second-most pars made (15) after the first 18.

Pedro Cruz Silva will start the second round for MSU on Saturday at 7:27 a.m. CT from the No. 10 tee. Logan, Endicott, Ruan Pretorius and Clegg will follow in 11-minute increments.
