Awarded annually to the best college golfer in the country and now in its 54th year, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel has been given to players who have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.
Past recipients include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, and Justin Thomas. The Fred Haskins Award is the oldest individual college golf award and the only award to be voted on by players, coaches, golf SIDs and select golf media.
Surratt is entering his second season at Tennessee and coming off of a 2022-23 season where he captured individual titles at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate and the SEC Championship. During his first season on Rocky Top, Surratt posted a program-record single-season stroke average of 69.58 while setting another single-season program record in rounds of par or better with 27.
Following his impressive freshman season, Surratt was named SEC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-SEC and became the first Vol golfer to be tabbed as a First-Team All-American.
This summer, Surratt put up a notable showing after representing the United States in the Arnold Palmer Cup and the Walker Cup, coming out victorious each time. Additionally, he advanced to the match play Round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur.
