Gilly, Chotikabhukkana Earn Top-10 Finishes at Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Tennessee women’s golfers Vanessa Gilly and Manassanan Chotikabhukkana finished in the top 10 of 84 participants at the Mary Fossum Invitational, which concluded on Monday afternoon at Forest Akers West Golf Course.

As a team, Tennessee finished in 5th place out of 17 schools with a total score of 20-over (884). They shot 300 in the third and final round on Monday.

Gilly shot her third consecutive 72 on Monday to finish even (216) for the tournament, placing fourth. It is the best finish of her career, and her second top-ten finish in two tournaments this season. She has recorded a score of par or better in all six rounds this fall.

Sophomore Chotikabhukkana finished 2-over (218) for the tournament after a score of 73 on Monday. Tying for ninth place marks the first time she has finished in the top ten during her time on Rocky Top.

Kayla Holden finished 32nd with a score of 9-over (225). The senior carded two rounds of 1-over (73) scores on Monday before logging a 79 on Tuesday.

Rounding out the lineup for the Lady Vols were sophomores Angela Arora and Caroline Patterson. Arora shot a 3-over (79) on Monday to finish 12-over (228) for the tournament, and Patterson finished two strokes behind her with a score of 14-over (230). They finished tied for 43rd and 52nd, respectively.

Competing as an individual, Bailey Davis finished 70th with a score of 20-over (236). Davis used four birdies in round one on Monday to propel herself to a par round, her second of the season.
