Noh, Liu Lead Bears At Stanford

Both Bears In Top 16 After 36 Holes

STANFORD – Junior Kaylyn Noh led the California women’s golf team with a 3-under-par 68 Saturday at the Stanford Intercollegiate and the Golden Bears finished the second day of the tournament in ninth place with 18 holes left to play at Stanford Golf Course.

It was the third time this season that Noh has shot a 68 or lower, moving her up 35 spots on the individual leaderboard to 16th place.

Adora Liu continued her remarkably consistent run, carding a 2-under 69. The sophomore heads into round three in sixth place at 3-under 139 for the tournament. Liu has now gone over 70 strokes just once in her last eight rounds.

Also helping the Bears improve from their round-one score was senior Rina Tatematsu, who recorded a 1-over 72. Both Tatematsu and Noh had a team-leading four birdies on the day.

Freshman Constance Fouillet (69-78 – 147) shot 7-over 78, tying Tatematsu and sophomore Anna Molloy for 53rd place through 36 holes.

Cal will start day three just two strokes behind sixth-place Texas. The final round will have a shotgun start Sunday at 8:30 a.m. PT.
