DURHAM – Duke men’s golf freshman Bryan Kim has been named to the Rolex Junior All-America First Team, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) announced on Friday. Kim, a native of Brookeville, Md., earns his third All-America honor from the AJGA, tied for the most of any player on the boy’s First Team.
Kim arrived in Durham for his freshman year after ending his junior career as the third-ranked junior according to both the AJGA and Golfweek. He ended his junior career on a high note, claiming the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur title in June of 2023 with a 2UP victory in the 36-hole championship match at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C. Kim enjoyed other junior accolades including Maryland junior champion in 2019 and 2021 and finishing as runner-up in states as both a freshman (2019) and a senior (2021) during his high school career.
So far in his collegiate career, Kim has started in all five of Duke’s team events and has finished inside the top-15 in two of the last three tournaments. He earned his best finish in Duke’s home event, the Rod Myers Invitational, with a fifth-place finish at 4-under, 212. Kim ended the fall portion of Duke’s schedule in good form, signing for an under-par round in seven of the final nine rounds of the fall. He currently holds a 71.93 stroke average – second-best on the team.
Kim and the Blue Devils return to the course in early 2024, opening the spring portion of the schedule at The Prestige, held on Feb. 19-21, in La Quinta, Calif.
