VFL Skinns Posts Top-Five Finish at Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Former Tennessee golfer David Skinns (01′-05′) posted his first-ever PGA Tour top-five finish after shooting 13-under and tying for fourth at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.

The Lincoln, England, native earns 104.00 FedEx Cup points following his electric performance.

After missing his first three cuts of the season, Skinns comfortably made it through the weekend and held his own on Saturday, firing a bogey-free 66 to finish 13-under and in a tie for the lead.

The 42-year-old was able to put himself in a great position heading into the final round despite his putter being bent on the first day. After he adjusted his putter back to be within the rules, he subsequently posted 65, 69 and 66 to share the lead heading into the final round.

Skinns closed out the round with a score of 71 to place fourth in the tournament with a score of 13-under (271).
