CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Five former Illini are in action this week, with Adrien Dumont de Chassart, Brian Campbell, Dylan Meyer, Thomas Pieters, and Steve Stricker all slated to tee off starting Thursday.
PGA TOUR
Adrien Dumont de Chassart’s season on the PGA Tour continues this week at the Puerto Rico Open. It marks the seventh event in his rookie campaign, as he looks to play through to the weekend for the third time this season after making back-to-back cuts at the Farmers Insurance Open in late January and the WM Phoenix Open in mid February.
Dumont de Chassart also announced this week that he will be playing in his native Belgium in May at the DP World Tour’s 2024 Soudal Open, alongside former Illini and countrymen Thomas Pieters and Matthis Besard.
PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS
Steve Stricker tees off in search of his third straight top-10 finish of the season on PGA Tour Champions this week at the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Ariz. Stricker has played in the event six times, finishing in the top 10 each time. Stricker won the 2018 event, to capture his first of now 17 career PGA Tour Champions victories, against a field that also included former teammate and longtime friend, Illini head coach Mike Small, who placed T24.
KORN FERRY TOUR
Brian Campbell and Dylan Meyer wlll both be on the course this week at the Astara Chile Classic at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile.
Campbell is 5-for-5 in cuts made this season, and is coming off of particulary strong performances in his last two outings with a runner-up (via playoff) at the Astara Golf Championship in February, followed by his T3 finish last week at the 117 Visa Argentina Open.

Meyer is making his 25th-career start on the Korn Ferry Tour, and his first this season.

Thomas Pieters ranked as the team’s top finisher last week in Jeddah, and looks to help RangeGoats GC get back on track this week at Hong Kong Golf Club after a 12th-place team.
