PGA Golfers
Six Gators where in the field for the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship. Billy Horschel (T-12), Tyson Alexander (Cut), Fred Biondi (T-26), Ricky Castillo (Cut), Alejandro Tosti (T-75) and Camillo Villegas (WD) all competed.
Horschel had his second best finish of the weekend at the Valspar, shooting five under to tie for 12th. The former Gators weekend was categorized by a four under fourth round, allowing him to jump 34 spots (T-46 to T-12). Horschel now sits firmly inside the top-100 FedEx players coming in at No. 89.

Biondi also had a good weekend in his fourth PGA Tour start of the season. The 2023 Individual National Champion shot three under with 14 birdies on the weekend. Biondi was dangerous around the green with an SG Around the Green value of 3.398 which was good for eighth in the field.

Tour Champion Golfers
Three former Gators played in the Hoag Classic in Newport Beach CA., with Brian Gay (T-27) and Chris DiMarco (T-33) both finishing in the top 35. Mark Calcavecchia (74) also tee’d off this past weekend.
Gay continued his hot streak, shooting three consecutive rounds of par or better for his fourth top-30 finish in a row. Gay also shot 14 birdies (tied for seventh among the field).
DiMarco had his best tournament of the season at the Hoag, shooting three under in route to a T-33 finish. The 34-year pro sits at 61st in Schwab Cup rank after this weekend.
Tour of the Americas Golfers
Yuxin Lin helped kick off the inaugural season of the PGA Tour Americas in Riviera Maya. A member of last year’s NCAA national Champion shot two over, tying for 18th at the Bupa Championship.
