COLUMBUS, Ohio – Illinois women’s golf finished the first two rounds of the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational in 10th after carding team total rounds of 302 (+14) and 305 (+17).
Anna Ritter leads the Illini after rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3) to end the day tied for 18th. Ritter eagled No. 18 during round one and would also go on to collect four birdies overall during the day. The sophomore was the lone golfer to score an eagle during the first 36 holes of play.
Isabel Sy is tied for 26th, scoring rounds of 74 (+2) and 76 (+4). Sy has the second-lowest par 5 scoring average in the tournament so far at 4.50 (-4).
Yurang Li and Lexanne Halama are both tied for 41st, with Li going 78 (+6) and 76 (+4) in her rounds and Halama posting rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+6).
Erica Lee is 60th, with rounds of 79 (+7) and 78 (+6), while Sophia Sulkar is tied for 66th after carding rounds of 79 (+7) and 82 (+10).
As a team, the Orange and Blue’s 4.94 scoring average on par 5s is tied for the second-lowest among the field.
Hosts Ohio State hold the team lead at 2-under (574) and the Buckeye’s Caley McGinty leads individually at 5-under (139).
The Fighting Illini will be back in action in tomorrow, with the final round shotgun beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT.
