CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Five Former Fighting Illini standouts are in action this week as the professional golf calendar rolls on after another thrilling Masters.
PGA TOUR
Thomas Detry, Nick Nardy and Adrien Dumont de Chassart all return to action on the PGA TOUR at two separate events this week.
Detry is looking to continue his strong play that propelled him to a T17 finish at the Valspar Championship followed by a runner-up showing at the Texas Children’s Houston Open to close out March.
He tees off this week, at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina, in search of his fourth straight made. Detry is currently ranked 37th in the FedEx Cup standings and 68th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
Meanwhile, Hardy and Dumont de Chassart will be in the field at the Corales Puntacana Championship at the Puntacana Resort & Club in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Both Hardy and Dumont de Chassart also made the cut, along with Detry, at the Houston Open in late March. Hardy finished T57 in Houston, then posted a top-25 finish at the Valero Texas Open earlier this month.
KORN FERRY TOUR
Brian Campbell tees off this week at the LECOM Suncoast Classic at Lakewood National Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Campbell has made six of seven cuts this season, including a pair of top-five finishes, and is currently No. 5 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List.
