USC Women's Golf Primed for NCAA East Lansing Regional

LOS ANGELES—No. 6 USC women’s golf searches for its 26th straight berth to the NCAA Championship site, as it takes on the NCAA East Lansing Regional as the No. 1 seed on Monday, May 6 thru Wednesday, May 8 at the Forest Akers West Course in East Lansing, Mich. 
 
COMPETITIVE SLATE (12): USC, Northwestern (Big Ten), Florida (SEC), Pepperdine (WCC), *Michigan State (Big Ten), Kentucky (SEC), Denver (Summit League), Oklahoma State (Big XII), Indiana (Big Ten), Augusta (Southland), Illinois State (Missouri Valley) and Oakland (Horizon).

WHERE: Forest Akers West Course (Par 72, 6,370 yards).

 

WHEN: The three-day, 54-hole stroke play event will begin Monday, May 6. Each round will be 18 holes, and the final round will be played on Wednesday, May 8.

Catherine Park 
 
The sophomore continues to impress as she picked up her third individual title after winning the Pac-12 Individual Championship. Park did so in historic fashion, as she broke the Pac-12 Tournament by posting a final score of -15. Park is now ranked as the No. 5 player in the latest collegiate golf individual rankings and is 12th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The sophomore improved her stroke average after the last tournament, as she leads the Trojans with a 70.54 average. Park now has eight top-25 and six top-ten finishes in nine stroke-play tournaments. 

Amari Avery

 

The junior is the 26th-ranked collegiate golfer in the Division I Women’s golf individual rankings and the 26th-ranked player in the World Amateur Rankings. Avery has posted six top-25, and three top-ten finishes this season, as she added one top-25 finish after tying for 16th at the Pac-12 Championship. Avery ranks second on the squad with a 71.17 stroke average. 

 

Brianna Navarrosa

The senior comes into the day after her second-best showing of the season, as she was tied for 4th at the Pac-12 Championship. Navarrosa started off slow with a 76 but followed that with back-to-back rounds in the 60s (67 & 66). That was her ninth top-ten finish for her career and gave her, her second on the season….
