Penn State Completes Opening Day at Bank of Tennessee


Bank of Tennessee Day 1 Results
 
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – The Penn State men’s golf team finished the opening day of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at 3-over, 291, as the Nittany Lions are currently in 13th place of the strong 15-team field.
 
Graduate student Lou Olsakovsky and junior Jimmy Meyers lead Penn State as the duo both finished the opening round tied for 15th after shooting 2-under, 70. Both Nittany Lions carded four birdies on the day, with all four of Olsakovsky’s coming on the front nine.
 
Freshman Jake Griffin, playing as an individual, finished the opening round at an even 72 and is tied for 38th.
 
Junior Patrick Sheehan is tied for 65th after shooting a 2-over, 74. Freshman Morgan Lofland and graduate student James McHugh are both currently tied for 85th at 5-over, 77.
 
Action at the Bank of Tennessee continues Monday as the second round is set for an 8:30 a.m. start at Blackthorn Club at the Ridges’ par-72, 7,147-yard course. A third and final round will be played Tuesday.
