10 ACC Women’s Golf Teams Earn Bids To NCAA Regionals

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Ten Atlantic Coast Conference women’s golf teams earned a bid to the 2022 NCAA Regionals, announced Wednesday on GOLF Channel. Wake Forest leads the way as a No. 1 seed, and is joined in this year’s competition by Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

The league has earned eight-or-more NCAA Regional bids in each of the last eight NCAA competitions and 10-or-more in four of the last six.

All teams will compete in a three-day, 54-hole regional May 9-11, to determine the 2022 NCAA Championship field. Six teams from each regional and the three low individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the finals, which will be held May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Fourth-ranked Wake Forest is the top seed in the Franklin (Tenn.) Regional, where it will be joined by Duke as a No. 4 seed. The regional will be played at Vanderbilt Legends Club.

No. 8 Virginia is the second seed in the Ann Arbor (Mich.) Regional and will be joined by Virginia Tech (No. 6) and North Carolina (No. 7). Those three teams will tee it up at the U-M Golf Course. Notre Dame’s Chloe Schiavone will also participate in Ann Arbor as an individual.

Florida State is the third seed in the Tallahassee (Fla.) Regional and will serve as the host. Miami (No. 7) will join FSU at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club. Clemson (No. 6) and NC State (No. 9) are in the Stillwater (Okla.) Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club. Louisville is the seventh seed in the Albuquerque (N. Mex.)
