Jackson Rivera Ties For 6th To Lead USC Men's Golf At Pac-12 Championships

Freshman Jackson Rivera matched his career-best effort with a tie for sixth to again lead the USC men’s golf team as the 2022 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships came to a close  at the Aldarra G.C. in Sammamish, Wash., on Wednesday (April 27).

USC finished seventh at 36-over 1456 (362-356-380-358). No. 8 host Washington won at 2-over while Stanford was second (5-over) and Arizona State third (10-over).

Rivera fired his team-best eighth round in the 60s this year, a 2-under effort to finish the 72-hole tournament at par 284 (73-68-74-69). He went out at 3-under on the back 9 start and finished at 1-over, closing with a pair of pars.

He now has a team-best 20 rounds of par or better, including 17 under par. His season stroke average (71.88) is inside the top 25 on USC’s all-time season chart.

He is USC’s top finisher for the eighth time in 11 events this season with his career-best-matching effort, the second top 10 of the season and his sixth top 21 and seventh top 28 while not having finished outside the top 36 all year.

Sophomore Krando Nishiba finished 27th at 7-over 291 (75-66-78-72), his second-best finish this season following a tie for 22nd in his last event.

Senior Alex Ross moved up into a tie for 28th at 8-over 282 (72-76-75-69) with his best round since September.

Senior Jack Boulger tied for 38th at 10-over 294 (70-74-77-73), freshman Gavin Aurilia tied for 45th at 11-over 295 (72-72-76-75) and senior Cameron Henry was 69th at 31-over 315 (80-77-81-77).
