GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke sophomore Phoebe Brinker has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for April.
A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Brinker won the ACC Championship with rounds of 70, 65 and 71 for a 10-under, 206. It marked her first collegiate win and helped lead Duke into the match play semifinals. Her second round of 7-under, 65, tied an ACC Tournament record and was the lowest 18-hole score in ACC Championship action for the Blue Devils.
Brinker became the 15th different Blue Devil to win an ACC individual title. The 10-under, 206, also matched Gina Kim’s mark from a year ago, which was the lowest 54-hole score for Duke in ACC Championship play. Over the three days, Brinker hit 37-of-42 fairways and 46-of-54 greens in regulation.
