Tigers Set to Open Regional Run


Norman, Okla. – The University of Missouri men’s golf team is set to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional event tomorrow as the No. 7 seed in the Norman, Oklahoma site, hosted by No. 1 seed Oklahoma University. This marks the 15th regional appearance for the Tigers in program history with it being the sixth in the last decade under co-head coach Mark Leroux.

The Tigers will be paired with San Diego State and Utah for the first round. At the end of Wednesday, the top-5 teams advance to the NCAA Championship which takes place in Scottsdale, Ariz. from May 27 – June 1.

REGIONAL SITE SLATE (in seed order): Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Louisville, Missouri, San Diego State, Utah, Kent State, Kansas State, UT Martin, Rider

WHERE: Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club (Par 72, 7,452 yards).

WHEN: The three-day event will begin on Monday, May 16 with the Tigers’ first round tee times starting at 8:55 a.m. CST, and conclude on Wednesday, May 18 with 18-holes being played each day.

“I just want the guys to be competitive. I feel confident that if they bring their best, they can finish in the top-five. It’s important that they realize it’s just another tournament at the end of the day. You know, it’s the same every year with season tournaments, then conference championship, leading up to regionals and finals. So, I just want them to focus on their game.”
