LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four University of Louisville women’s golfers were named Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, the organization announced Tuesday.
Mairead Martin, Carmen Griffiths, Kendall Griffin and Lauren Thibodeau each earned honors.
The 2021-22 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced today with a total of 1,485 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. T
Louisville has placed at least three on the list each year since 2012, and had multiple honorees each of the last 11 years.
Martin finished the season with a 75.81 stroke average, with one finish in the top 15. She opened the season by tying for 14th at the Wolverine Invitational and closed the year by finishing 17th at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional.
In her first season, Griffths finished fourth on the quad with a 75.80 stroke average after one top 15 finish after tying for 11th-place at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate.
Griffin was the team’s top performer earning all-ACC accolades after finishing with a 72.86 stroke average. She posted four top-five finishes, including second-place finishes at the Illini Invitational and the Moon Golf Invitational.
The winner of the Honda Spirit Award, Thibodeau recorded a 76.77 stroke average after finishing third at the Illini Invitational.
