Seven Named to SEC Spring Honor Roll


COLUMBIA, Mo. – Including seven from the University of Missouri women’s golf program, a total of 1,531 student-athletes were named to the 2022 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, Wednesday by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. Mizzou saw 104 student-athletes on the list, marking the second-consecutive year with 100 or more spring sport student-athletes honored.

The 2022 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll includes the sports of baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track & field. It is based on grades from the 2021 Summer, 2021 Fall and 2022 Spring terms (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher).

Rising senior Brianne Bolden (health science), rising junior Martina Munoz (business administration) rising senior Olivia Sowers (agribusiness management), rising junior Emily Staples (health science) and rising senior Sophia Yoemans (health science) are among the honorees.

Noelle Beijer (interdisciplinary studies) and Keagan Dunn (business administration) – 2021-22 graduates – also earned spots on the SEC Spring Honor Roll.

Beijer, Staples and Yoemans played 27 rounds in nine tournaments last season. Bolden played 26 rounds in nine tournaments and Dunn played 20 rounds in seven events. Yoemans (74.2) and Beijer (74.26) paced the Tigers in stroke average. As a squad, Mizzou posted three-top finishes in 2021-2022.

Earlier this month, Staples and Yoemans were named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. The criteria for selection includes a minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and participation in 50 percent of the team’s competitions.
