Wolverines Announce Challenging 2022-23 Schedule

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The defending Big Ten champion University of Michigan women’s golf team announced Thursday (July 28) a challenging 10-tournament regular-season schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

“This just might be the best schedule in program history,” said U-M head coach Jan Dowling. “We have earned these types of tests after the great play we have had the last few years. Our goal is to be consistently challenging ourselves each and every tournament against the very best in women’s collegiate golf.

“This year’s schedule provides great opportunities every time we tee it up. We will be competing on world-class golf courses that will not only get our games ready for the postseason, but really allow us prep for professional golf. We can’t wait to get started.”

With an evenly split fall and spring schedule — the Wolverines start the fall with a trip to Lake Elmo, Minn., for the prestigious Annika Intercollegiate. The ANNIKA Foundation — golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam’s charitable organization — serves as the host of the three-day event to be held at the Royal Golf Club (Sept. 12-14).

Returning for the first time since 2014, the Maize and Blue head to Tennessee’s Mercedes Benz Collegiate (Sept. 19-20) just a week following the season opener. Featuring a top national field, the 54-hole event is held at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville.

The fall closes with three return trips starting with Northwestern’s Windy City Classic (Oct. 3-4) at the Exmoor Country Club (Highland Park, Ill.), North Carolina’s Ruth’s Chris Invitational (Oct. 17-18) at the Governor’s Club (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and UNC Wilmington’s Landfall Tradition (Oct. 28-30) at the Country Club of Landfall (Wilmington, N.C.).

Following the three-month training break, the Wolverines head to Guadalajara, Mexico, for Virginia’s Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club (Feb. 5-6). It marks the Wolverines’ first trip to the Cavaliers’ spring event since 2020. Two weeks later, U-M heads back to Melbourne, Fla., for the first time since 2019 for Louisville’s Moon Golf Invitational (Feb. 19-21) at the Suntree Country Club.
