TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women’s golf head coach Mic Potter officially announced the 2022-23 schedule Wednesday, which features five fall tournaments and, including postseason, as many as seven spring events throughout the upcoming campaign.
The 2022-23 campaign marks Potter’s 18th season at the helm of the women’s golf program at Alabama, which begins its 49th season as a varsity sport.
Fall Schedule Highlights
- The Crimson Tide will compete in two tournaments in September, beginning with the ANNIKA Intercollegiate (Sept. 12-14) and the Mason Rudolph Championship (Sept. 23-25)
- Alabama will compete in three of the four weeks during the month of October, beginning at the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah, Oct. 10-11
- It will mark the Tide’s debut at the event, which is played at the famed Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
- The following week, UA will compete at The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State, Oct. 17-18 where the Tide will look to defend last year’s tournament championship
- Alabama led the event wire-to-wire on the way to a 10-shot victory
- Junior Benedetta Moresco finished the event with a program record for lowest 54-hole score (197) and matched the 18-hole school mark (9-under 63) on her way to claiming medalist honors by six strokes
- The Tide will end the fall season at the Landfall Tradition Oct. 28-30
Spring Schedule Highlights
- The spring campaign opens Feb. 19-21 at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
- The Tide will then travel to Hilton Head, S.C., to compete at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Feb. 27-March 1
- Alabama concludes the regular season with back-to-back tournaments in March, including the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Ga., (March 11-12) and the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate in Athens, Ga. (March 24-26).
- The postseason begins April 12-16 at the 2023 SEC Championships, which will be played at the Greystone Golf and Country Club (Legacy Course) in Birmingham, Ala., for the 10th time since 2013
- NCAA Regionals will take place the weekend of May 8-10, while the NCAA Championships will be played at Grayhawk Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 19-24
