Patrick Cantlay loves the postseason.
The 30-year-old defended his title at the BMW Championship on Sunday and is now in the driver’s seat to do the same in the season-long race for the FedEx Cup. Cantlay shot a final-round 2-under 69 on Sunday at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware for his eighth PGA Tour win and second of the season following his victory with Xander Schauffele at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April. The win also made PGA Tour history as Cantlay is the first player to ever defend a win at a FedEx Cup Playoff event.
After missing the cut at the PGA Championship in May, Cantlay has been on an impressive run of form with four top-10 finishes in his last eight starts and will be a favorite next week at the Tour Championship.
