COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina men’s golf announced its 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday. The Gamecocks will play in nine regular season events (four fall, five spring) before beginning postseason play in late April.
Carolina will kickoff its season up north Sept. 11-13 at the Badger Invitational hosted by Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course. It will mark the second time ever the Gamecocks compete in the event. The Gamecocks won the tournament in 2013 and Caleb Sturgeon also took home medalist honors.
The team will then play in the second edition of SEC Match Play hosted by Jerry Pate at Old Overton Club Sept. 24-27. Carolina will be off for a month before competing again at the Isleworth Collegiate (formerly the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational) Oct. 23-25 in Windermere, Fla. The Gamecocks will then conclude the fall Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate, competing in the event for the second straight season.
The spring slate will look identical to last season as the team will open up at the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 12-14). Carolina will then have a busy March with stops at the Palmetto Intercollegiate (March 6-7), General Hackler Championship (March 13-14) and Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate (March 26-28) before the regular season finale at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational (April 1-2).
The 2022 SEC Championship (April 19-23) will again take place at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course for the 23rd year. It will be the seventh straight season the conference champion will be decided with match play. There will be 54-holes with a cut to the top eight for match play.
NCAA Regionals will take place May 15-17 and the NCAA Championship will be at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the third consecutive year May 26-31. Starting in 2024, the NCAA Championship will move to Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. For three seasons.
