Hokie Events: Sept. 1-5 - Virginia Tech Athletics


With fall sports in full swing, Virginia Tech has a full schedule this weekend, as cross country, volleyball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer will be in action at home, while Tech football and men’s golf have their season openers on the road. For more information on who each team will play, the dates of those matchups and promotions at home events, read below.
 
HOME EVENTS 
 
Cross Country
Blacksburg, Va.
Buford Meredith Cross Country Course
Friday, Sept. 2 | 6 p.m. ET | Virginia Tech Invitational
 
The Hokies start their season on Friday night when they host the Virginia Tech Invitational at 6 p.m. at Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
 
Volleyball
Blacksburg, Va.
Cassell Coliseum

Friday, Sept. 2 | Noon & 7 p.m. | vs. Coppin State & Marist
Saturday Sept. 3 | 3 p.m. | vs. Old Dominion
 
Tech will host the Hokie Invitational this weekend and will face off against three different opponents. Starting Friday, it will play Coppin State at noon. Later, at 7 p.m., it will match up against Marist. To round out the weekend, it will face Old Dominion at 3 p.m. Saturday. You can stream all three matches on ACC Network Extra. Come out to the Hokie Invitational for Weekend of Fun! where you can participate in trivia, contests and more at all three tournament matches.
 
Men’s Soccer
Blacksburg, Va.
Thompson Field
Friday, Sept. 2 | 7 p.m. | vs. Radford
Monday, Sept. 5 | 5 p.m. | vs. Mercer
 
Tech will have its home opener Friday night against Radford at 7 p.m. Mercer will come to visit Thompson Field on Monday at 5 p.m. Both matches will be live on ACC Network Extra. Join us for Youth Soccer Club Day on Sunday with the Hokies Kids’ Club for fun for the whole family!
 
Women’s Soccer
Blacksburg, Va.
Thompson Field
Sunday, Sept. 4 | 5 p.m. | vs. Charlotte
 
Tech returns to Thompson Field on Sunday for its matchup against Charlotte at 5 p.m. This game can be streamed on ACC Network Extra. Senior goalkeeper Dare Burnett will be recognized before Sunday’s game for being a senior, and fans can enjoy games, a bounce house and a snow cone truck before the game.
 
AWAY EVENTS
 
Women’s Soccer
Thursday, Sep. 1 | 6 p.m. | at Old Dominion
 
With hopes to keep their undefeated season alive, the Hokies travel to Old Dominion for a Thursday night matchup at 6 p.m. You can stream the match on ESPN+.
 
Football
Friday, Sep. 2 | 7 p.m. | at Old Dominion
