Women's Golf Announces Fall 2022 Schedule


PISCATAWAY, N.J. (September 1, 2022) — The Rutgers women’s golf program has announced its schedule for the fall 2022 season. The Scarlet Knights will compete in four events ranging from Ohio to Mexico. 
 
Head coach Kari Williams and her team look to build on a season where the team recorded the fourth-lowest scoring average in program history at 302.72.
 
RU will open the season with a return to the Badger Invitational on September 18th, hosted by Wisconsin. Last season, the Scarlet Knights finished 11th as a team, with Rikke Nordvik leading the way with a t-20 finish in Madison. 
 
The second event of the season for Rutgers will be another return trip, this one to the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Colorado from September 26-28. The Scarlet Knights posted a 10th place finish last season in the 20-team field. Lucrezia Rossettin tied for 13th in the event to lead RU.
 
Rutgers continues play in October with a trip to Port Clinton, Ohio to compete in the Rocket Classic, hosted by Toledo on October 10th and 11th. 
 
The Scarlet Knights wrap up their fall slate with a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to compete in the Battle at the Beach, hosted by TCU. The Horned Frogs finished last season ranked No. 33 in the country and will host the tournament from October 28-30. 
 
Under head coach Kari Williams, the Rutgers women’s golf team features an experienced roster in 2022-23 with all six members returning from last year’s roster.
 
Leigha Devine is coming off a t-18 finish in stroke play at the US Women’s Amateur, a victory in the Colorado Match Play championship and a runner-up finish at the Colorado Stroke Play championship, all this summer. Anna Maria Diederichs was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week in the spring after winning the Jackrabbit Invitational, Maeve Rossi holds the third-lowest career scoring average in program history at 76.08, Rikke Nordvik led the team with a t-17 finish at Big Ten Championships in the spring, Lucrezia Rossettin competed in 11 tournaments a true freshman and Nicole Ewing has 12 tournaments under her belt with a pair of top-10 finished in her career.
