LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jiri Zuska and Max Kennedy fired a 67 to lead the University of Louisville men’s golf team to 13th place after the first day of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate at the Mirabel Country Club on Friday, Sept. 9.
The Cardinals finished the opening round at two-under-par to sit twenty shots behind the first-round leader, Auburn, which is 22-under. Clemson is tied for 14th place with even par, while Georgia Tech is in 11th at five-under-par.
Opening the fall season, the Cardinals return key golfers to the course including Kennedy and Zuska.
Kennedy and Zuska carded a three-under-par 67 to finish tied for 21st place after shooting seven shots off the lead. Both Cardinals had four birdies on the day and Zuska recorded an eagle on the 17th hole.
Sebastian Moss finished the day with a 1-over-par 71 to tie for 52nd. Moss had three birdies in the last seven holes to finish round one.
Pierce Grieve carded a three-over-par with four birdies throughout all 18 holes, while Jackson Brimfield recorded a four-over-par 74 with three birdies on the day.
The Cardinals will tee off at 10:50 a.m. ET on Saturday morning to begin second-round action.
