Women’s Golf Adds Transfer Rylee Suttor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Head coach Whitney Young is pleased to announce the addition of Rylee Suttor to the University of Louisville women’s golf team for the 2022-23 season. Suttor was a stand-out at nearby Centre College and looks to provide an immediate impact for the Cardinals.

In her three seasons at Centre, Suttor rewrote the record books and competed well on the national stage. In her final season at Centre in 2021-22, she was the program’s first ever PING WGCA Player of the Year. It was the school’s first National Player of the Year honor since 2011. She was named an All-American and Southern Athletic Association Player of the year for the second-straight season.

She led the nation with a 71.4 scoring average in 2021-22 and she won four of the eight tournaments she competed in and had two runner-up finishes. At the 2022 NCAA Championship, she finished tied for third overall as an individual. She tied the program record for low 18-hole round with a 68 in the second round at the Transylvania Fall Invite. Later in the season, she set the program record outright with a 67 in the second round of the Savannah Invitational.

In her sophomore season, she was the program’s third-ever first team All-American and claimed SAA Golfer of the Year honors. Led Centre with a 76.1 season scoring average, which included five “par or better” rounds. Finished third or better in four of five meets, winning the SAA Championship with the program’s third-lowest 54-hole score (229) at a conference finale. She finished ninth overall at the NCAA Division III Championship. She finished third in program history with 44 birdies on the season.

In 2019-20, she was second on the team with a 77.9 average as a rookie before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The women’s golf team will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for the Schooner Fall Classic. The three-day tournament will begin on Saturday, September 24 and will be held at the Belmar Golf Club.
