HUGE CROWDS FOR FINAL ROUND

The final round of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France is underway at Golf Barrière in Deauville where a large gallery is following the final group, rewarding the organiser’s innovative marketing efforts to attract a new audience with the change of venue this year.

Meghan MacLaren had joined the overnight leader Ines Laklalech in a share of the lead on 11-under-par after two holes, after converting an excellent approach shot from the greenside bunker for a birdie.

MacLaren then made a two on the par-3 fifth hole to take a narrow advantage on 12-under-par.

The 28-year-old Englishwoman won the Australian Ladies Classic, her third LET title, in April and tied for second in the Ladies Italian Open in June but has had mixed results since then. The highlight of her summer was T18th in the ISPS Handa World Invitational in Northern Ireland.
