BREMERTON, Wash. – The Washington men’s golf team finished day one of the Husky Invitational in second place, having finished the 36 holes with a team score of even-par 576. Play was suspended due to darkness with members of four teams still on the course, though UW’s players had all completed their rounds.

The Huskies, hosting a total of 15 teams at Gold Mountain’s Olympic Course, finished the day with three players in the top-10 heading into Tuesday’s third and final round. Taehoon Song birdied four of his last nine holes to complete the day at 1-under, good for a tie for fifth place. Both Teddy Lin and Joshua Koo are tied for ninth place, at even par through two rounds.

Not far out of the top 10 is Bo Peng, who reached 1-over thanks to an eagle on No. 14 in his second round. He’s tied for 18th.

Washington also had three individual entrants in the team tournament. The top player of the day among those three was Robert Galligan, who’s 4-over total is good for a tie for 29th place in the 78-man field.

UW is also hosting a concurrent individual tournament on Gold Mountain’s Cascade Course. Freshman Patrick Hong, at 1-under through 36 holes, is tied for seventh in that tournament.

The tournament wraps up Tuesday with the third and final round.
